Get ready for it, Take That musical The Band visits the Ipswich Regent next year.
The fastest selling musical theatre tour of all time, it’ll be here from February 12-16, 2019.
It’s proved to be one of the Regent’s fastest selling musicals ever too, with more than 1,000 tickets sold in the first 12 hours.
The show, by Tim Firth, is the story of what it’s like to grow up with a boyband. Starting in 1992, we meet five 16 year-old girls for whom the band is everything.
They reunite 25 years later to try once more to fulfil their dream of meeting the group whose music became the soundtrack to their lives.
It features the music of Britain’s most successful boyband, including songs like Never Forget, Back for Good, A Million Love Songs, Greatest Day, The Flood, Relight My Fire, Shine and Rule the World.
It stars AJ Bentley, Nick Carsberg, Curtis T Johns, Yazdan Qafouri and Sario Solomon – Five to Five - the winners ofthe BBC show Let it Shine, a live band and a cast of 16.
Bryony Rudkin, Ipswich Borough Council’s deputy leader, said: “This shows how popular some of our big shows are at the Regent. We are delighted with this early flurry of ticket sales and are sure this great story with the music of Take That will appeal to many thousands of theatre-goers across the region in 2019. You could say it will be their Greatest Day!”
