Cole Skuse and Teddy Bishop have both returned to fitness for Ipswich Town ahead of tomorrow night’s league match at Championship strugglers Brighton & Hove Albion, though David McGoldrick and Luke Hyam remain sidelined.
Midfielder Hyam will be out for four-six weeks with the knee injury he sustained in the 1-0 FA Cup replay defeat against Southampton, while striker David McGoldrick – who also suffered a knee injury in that game – should be available again for the home game with Wigan a week on Saturday.
Cole Skuse and Teddy Bishop are both available again for the trip to The Amex Stadium after overcoming recent illnesses.
Skuse was rested for the FA Cup 1-1 draw at Southampton and then missed the narrow home defeats against Derby and Southampton, as well as last weekend’s 3-1 win at Millwall, due to a virus. Bishop has missed the last two matches.
“They both trained today and were very good,” said Blues boss Mick McCarthy, when asked about Skuse and Bishop. “I’m really pleased with them.
“The rest may have done Skusey good because he’s played virtually every game. Bish is different. Every week he runs himself to exhaustion. We have to keep taking him off after 75 minutes and I think that runs him down – the immune system takes a battering.
“He trained today though and was fine. It’s great to have him back.”
