Ipswich Town forward Conor Chaplin believes that the upcoming games against Crystal Palace and AFC Bournemouth present a good opportunity for his side to secure their first home win of the season.

The Blues claimed three points away at Tottenham Hotspur last month but are yet to record a victory on home soil. Their record of one win, six draws and six defeats leaves them in 19th place, although they sit level on points with Wolves and Crystal Palace.

The latter will head to Suffolk this evening for a crunch clash at the bottom end of the Premier League table, with Bournemouth the visitors on Sunday afternoon. Chaplin believes that, while his side won't put any extra importance on these two games, they'll see them as 'a good opportunity'.

“We’ve got two home games to look to now, which is a rarity in the Premier League, especially with it being a Saturday and a Tuesday," he said after the 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

“We’re looking at recovery, then we’ll prepare for that.

“They’re big games, but I think they’re all big games for us. I don’t think you can pinpoint any game being bigger than another.

“I think we proved at Tottenham away that you don’t know when there’s a win around the corner, but we want to start picking up some good points at home, Portman Road.

“We see it as a good opportunity, definitely.”
