Ross Halls takes a look at which former Ipswich Town players are now managing non-league clubs.
COLE SKUSE
The 38-year-old retired from playing at the end of the 2022/23 season and took over as manager of Suffolk non-league side Bury Town.
Skuse had a successful first season in charge of the eighth-tier side, as they finished runners-up in the Isthmian League North Division, but were beaten 3–1 by Brentwood Town in the play-off semi-finals.
The former midfielder agreed a new deal at Ram Meadow and currently is having another impressive season as they sit top of the table, six points clear after 17 games played so far. He has won multiple manager of the month awards.
Overall, he spent eight years at Portman Road, making more than 250 appearances.
KEVIN HORLOCK
The 52-year-old has been in charge of Suffolk non-league side Needham Market since February 2020.
Horlock led the Marketmen to the first round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history in 2022/23 and guided them to the Southern League Premier Central title last season, earning promotion to the National League North.
They are currently bottom of the sixth tier.
In total, Horlock made over 50 appearances during his two seasons at Portman Road.
KELVIN DAVIS
The 48-year-old ex-goalkeeper was appointed manager of National League side Eastleigh in February this year - his first job in management.
Davis was given a new three-year contract following the conclusion of last season after he led the Spitfires to six victories in 13 games, including five clean sheets.
They currently sit 11th in the fifth tier after 20 games played this campaign and are two points off the play-off spots.
Overall, he played close to 100 games for Town, where he helped the Blues reach the Championship play-offs in both of his campaigns at Portman Road.
ANDY DRURY
The soon to be 41-year-old was named player-manager of Folkestone Invicta in November last year, with the Kent side battling relegation in the Isthmian League Premier Division.
Drury guided them to safety, finishing 16th in the seventh tier, and signed a new deal in April for the 2024/25 season. They currently sit just fifth.
The former midfielder previously had spells as manager at Whitstable Town and Margate in 2022. He made more than 50 appearances for Town during his two-year spell.
LUKE HYAM
The 33-year-old was forced to end his playing career in 2020 due to a back injury and was appointed manager of Suffolk non-league side Woodbridge Town in February 2022.
Hyam led the Woodpeckers to fourth in 2022/23 and 13th last season in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division, the ninth tier of English football. They are currently fifth in the table after 19 games.
He isn't the first ex-Blue to manage the Woodpeckers as Micky Stockwell was in charge between 2004 to 2007.
Hyam, who played close to 150 games for his boyhood club, is assisted by former Town academy player Billy Clark.
