Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap is currently listed among the most clinical strikers in the Premier League based on early data.

The 21-year-old has caught the eye with his impressive performances, having found the back of the net six times in 11 games so far this season.

What's more impressive is that he hasn't had loads of chances to score, with his expected goals [xG] figure listed at 2.17 according to analysts at Grosvenor Sport.

This suggests that he's outperforming his xG by 2.17, making him the fifth most clinical player in the division.

Of course, these are still early days. As with any player outperforming their xG, there's a chance that their run of form simply isn't sustainable over the course of a season. However, at this point, Delap has shown that he's unlikely to fade away in front of goal.

Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo leads the way as the Premier League’s most ruthless finisher, overperforming his xG by 4.06 and more than any other top-flight player by a total of 1.5.

The Premier League's surprise package of the season so far, Chris Wood, sits second with an overperformance of 2.55. He's followed by Chelsea's Cole Palmer (2.49) and Matheus Cunha of Wolves (2.27).

Aside from Delap, only two players in Ipswich are outperforming their xG. Sam Morsy ranks second in the team with 0.81 while Leif Davis sits third with 0.53.

At the other end of the scale, Jack Clarke is underperforming by 0.84, with the left winger yet to score this season.
