Ipswich Town Wes Burns and Nathan Broadhead earned international caps as Wales beat Montenegro 1-0 in Nations League B.

Burns started the match on the left flank, coming close with a header in the 12th minute. He then delivered a dangerous cross into the box, which was flagged for a foul.

The Dragons took the lead nine minutes before half time as Vladimir Jovovic caught Harry Wilson with an elbow to the face in the box. The Fulham man stepped up and dispatched his penalty, making it 1-0.

Wales dominated the first half, which prompted Montenegro to make four changes at the break. Although Burns came close to capitalising on a mistake with a wayward shot from a tight angle, the visitors improved massively, hitting the crossbar with a strike from distance.

The 29-year-old was brought off in the 69th minute, with Broadhead coming on for his first competitive minutes since the 4-0 defeat to Slovakia on June 9th. His last match for Ipswich came in the 2-1 win away at Coventry City on April 30th.

In the end, Wales secured a deserved 1-0 win, leaving them second in Group 4 - sitting behind Turkey on goal difference and four points ahead of Iceland. Burns now has 10 caps at senior level while Broadhead has 13.

International is now over for the pair, who'll return to Suffolk tomorrow. Craig Bellamy's side are next in action in November when they travel to Turkey before hosting Iceland in Cardiff. This was their first home win under him and they're now unbeaten in four games.

Cameron Burgess (Australia), Arijanet Muric (Kosovo) and Omari Hutchinson (England Under-21) could all earn caps tomorrow.
