Suffolk boxing star Fabio Wardley says he's taking aim at world titles after decimating bitter rival Frazer Clarke in the first round of their heavyweight rematch.

Wardley, 29, defended his British heavyweight title by destroying Clarke inside three minutes in their second fight in Saudi Arabia.

The Suffolk slugger detonated a huge right hand which wobbled Clarke, before unleashing a flurry which left his foe sunk on the ropes and nursing what looks to be a serious facial injury.

Wardley, now 18-0-1 (17 KO), said: “Look, I said, I’ve got dynamite power in each hand. I always know, when I hurt someone I can get rid of them.

“I made some errors in the first fight, I went in to the first fight with a lot of background stuff, my team saying to me maybe it’s not the right time maybe we should take a minute or two, maybe we should pull out.

“So I went in with a couple of issues, but we got them fixed up, we put the gameplan together and we executed on the night.”

He added: “Sometimes, war is needed and sometimes brains are needed.

"But I took enough assessment from the first fight to know that I had success in that war moment, we just needed to be a little bit cuter and sweeter, set things up a little bit better, disguise them a little bit better.

“I said this in the press conference. Once I have my enemies hurt, there is no help for them. Unless that bell comes, that’s the only thing that will save you.

“If you still have time with me in the ring, nothing is going to save you.”

Look, I can’t help it – war by name, war by nature.”

And he said: “I want belts, I want titles. These ones look great, but I want ones which say world on them – world champion, they’re the ones I’m hunting.

“Whoever is side by side with me, hunting those as well, we’re going to have to meet.”
