Three Ipswich Town players earned international caps this evening, with mixed results England Under-21's and Wales.

Liam Delap earned his eighth cap for the Young Lions while Omari Hutchinson made his debut at the level, with both players starting in a 2-1 win against Ukraine at the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth.

The hosts dominated possession in the first half but failed to create any more than a handful of half-chances. After the break, Delap scooped a shot over the bar from just inside the box before Hutchinson diverted a header into the gloves of goalkeeper Ruslan Neshcheret from a tight angle.

Defender Taras Mykhavko opened the scoring on his debut for Ukraine U21s on his debut, firing past James Trafford in the 71st minute.

It took until the 88th minute for the England to equalise, with James McAtee rifling a free-kick in off the bar from the very edge of the area, with the Manchester City attacker slotting low into the bottom corner in the second minute of stoppage time to win the match.

Hutchinson was withdrawn in the 64th minute for Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Gittens. Delap, on the other hand, played the full 90 minutes in Dorset.

The result means that England are still in with a chance of topping Group F. To do so, they'll have to beat Azerbaijan on Tuesday evening and hope that Ukraine drop points against Serbia. If they don’t, they’ll need to be one of the top three second-placed teams, which will be guaranteed if they can avoid defeat at Ashton Gate.

Elsewhere, Wes Burns and Nathan Broadhead were named on the bench for the first time under Craig Bellamy as Wales continued their Nations League B campaign with a 2-2 draw against Iceland.

An 11th-minute goal from Tottenham Hotspur's Brennan Johnson opened the scoring before Fulham winger Harry Wilson doubled the lead on the half-hour mark.

Burns was introduced for Johnson at half-time after the 23-year-old picked up a yellow card that'll see him suspended for Monday's game against Montenegro in Cardiff.

Iceland substitute Logi Tomasson responded in the 69th minute before an own-goal from goalkeeper Danny Ward got the hosts level three minutes later.

Burns now has nine caps to his name while Town team-mate Nathan Broadhead - who's yet to make a competitive appearance this season - was an unused substitute.

The Dragons currently sit fourth in Group 4 with five points from their opening three matches.

Two former Ipswich loanees also earned caps, with Kieffer Moore starting for Wales and Dane Scarlett coming on in the dying stages for England U21s.
