Ipswich Town attacker Conor Chaplin believes that the last 12 months have been the best year of his life as he approaches his son’s first birthday.
The 27-year-old and his girlfriend welcomed their child on October 9th, 2023 – just two days after he opened the scoring in a 4-2 win against Preston North End at Portman Road.
Of course, the Blues went on to secure a top-two finish that season, capping off an incredible few months for Chaplin, who’s thankful for the support that he’s had to find the right balance of work and family life.
“I’ve loved it, I’ve absolutely loved it,” he said. “It’s probably been the best year of my life.
“It’s obviously the same year that we got promoted to the Premier League, so that makes it a little bit easier!
“It’s been the biggest blessing I’ve ever had. I’ve enjoyed every single bit of it.
“I’m lucky enough to have an incredible partner that does a lot of things that allows me to sleep and still be prepared in every single way that I need to be.
“It’s been amazing, I’ve loved it.”
