Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna says defender Axel Tuanzebe will 'be out for a while' after suffering a hand injury.

The 26-year-old had started every Premier League game for the Blues at right back, impressing for McKenna's men, but missed yesterday's 4-1 defeat at West Ham.

After the game, McKenna revealed the Congolese international is likely to be out for a while.

"He's had surgery and will be out for a while. It's not going to be a couple of weeks, probably longer. There are still discussions with the specialists.

"He's naturally a miss with the way he's started the season. He's going to be out for a little while.

"We're going to have to adjust and regroup as a team."

Ben Johnson started in his place at the London Stadium but struggled as the Blues' four match unbeaten run was ended in chastening style.
