Ipswich Town quartet Sammie Szmodics, Chiedozie Ogbene, Dara O'Shea and Jack Taylor have been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their upcoming Nations League games.

Szmodics, who made the step up to the Premier League for the first time this season, scored the opener for Town at Manchester City in August. He currently has six caps to his name, having made his debut earlier this year.

Ogbene earned his first call-up in 2021 and has now featured 22 times for the Boys in Green, scoring four goals, while O'Shea has featured 28 times at international level since making his debut in 2020.

Taylor is set to make his senior international debut for the Republic of Ireland this month, having played seven times for the Under-21’s.

Heimir Hallgrímsson's side, who were beaten 2-0 by both England and Greece last month, continue their Nations League campaign with a trip to Finland on Thursday, October 10th and an away game in Greece on Sunday, October 13th. Both games will kick off at 7:45pm.

Axel Tuanzebe (DR Congo), Ali Al-Hamadi (Iraq), Nathan Broadhead and Wes Burns (both Wales) have also been called up for international action, which is due to start after Saturday’s trip to West Ham.
