And this week he's picked striker Liam Delap, after the young talent bagged a brace in Town's pulsating 2-2 draw with Aston Villa at Portman Road on Sunday.

"His back-to-goal play was miles better. And he gets two goals in a week Erling Haaland decided to not score a hat-trick!"

Last week Deeney picked Town skipper Sam Morsy in his XI after his dramatic late leveller at Southampton.

And the week before that, it was defender Axel Tuanzebe who made Deeney's XI after his strong showing in the 0-0 draw at Brighton.

This week's Deeney XI is (4-2-3-1): Hermansen (Leicester City); Justin (Leicester), Van de Ven (Spurs), Andersen (Fulham), Gvardiol (Man City); Cook (Bournemouth), Tonali (Newcastle); Semenyo (Bournemouth), Palmer (Chelsea), McNeil (Everton); Delap (Ipswich).

Veteran boss Harry Redknapp also put Delap in his team of the week, which he selects for BetVictor.

He said: "The 21-year-old is showing great maturity in front of goal and that winner was a superb individual strike.

"Scoring two to earn his team a point against a very strong Aston Villa was not part of Unai Emery’s script! The Tractor Boys will be relying on him to keep up this form and keep them up at the same time."
