Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna says he is fully behind Aro Muric after the goalkeeper was dismissed from the Kosovo squad last weekend.

Muric, an £8m signing from Burnley this summer, featured in a 3-0 home defeat to Romania before being sent home ahead of a trip to Cyprus for allegedly 'breaking the regulations of the national football team'.

Reports suggested that the 25-year-old had stayed out too late in nightclubs, with him subsequently stating that the decision was 'not far' and that 'rumours are not true at all'.

"I've had a conversation with him, of course," said McKenna. "It's not my area really. I think it's Ipswich Town's area to clear that up.

"But I've spoken to Aro though and he's given me his version which I think , as he's said, is a little bit different to some of the rumours.

"Look, I've got no problem with his version. He's our player and we support him. It was good to have him back in training a couple of days earlier, if I'm honest.

"We're looking to keep working on his integration into the team and I'm sure he's going to be an important player for us."

Meanwhile, the Blues boss issued positive injury updates on Wes Burns, George Hirst and Omari Hutchinson ahead of Saturday's Premier League game at Brighton.
