Ahead of tomorrow's clash between Brighton & Hove Albion and Ipswich Town, Ross Halls takes a look at 10 players to have featured for both sides.

CHRISTIAN WALTON

The current Town keeper joined the Blues from Brighton, intially on loan, in the summer of 2021. He then signed permanently in January 2022. 

Walton moved to Brighton from Plymouth Argyle in 2013, where he progressed through their academy before going on to make six senior appearances for the Seagulls.

DARREN CURRIE

The midfielder signed for Brighton from Wycombe in the summer of 2004, where he went on to play 22 games, scoring two goals before joining Town for £250k in December of that year.

Currie spent three seasons at Portman Road, making 89 appearances for the club and scoring nine goals, including a strike on his debut at QPR. 

ADAM WEBSTER

The classy centre-back is now with the Seagulls, where he has played since 2019. He has made over 100 appearances for them. 

Webster spent two years with the Blues, playing more than 50 games for Town in total, before he was sold to Bristol City in 2018.

JEREMY SARMIENTO

The Ecuadorian winger proved to be a big hit at Portman Road in the second half of last season on loan from the Seagulls. He scored four goals in 22 games as he helped the Blues win promotion to the Premier League.

Sarmiento has since been loaned out again, joining Burnley for the 2024/25 campaign. 

JIMMY LEADBETTER

The Scottish winger made over 100 appearances for Brighton in the early 1950s, before moving to Ipswich for £1,750 in 1955. 

Leadbetter became a club legend in Suffolk. He was part of the side that won the second and first division titles under Sir Alf Ramsey. He played more than 300 times for Town.

MAURICIO TARICCO

The Argentine full-back was a fans' favourite during his spell at Portman Road, where he played over 150 times, scoring some terrific goals. 

Taricco finished his playing career in Sussex. He went on to play 15 games before retiring from football and working as assistant manager to Gus Poyet.

RUSSELL OSMAN

The defender came through the Blues' academy, making over 300 appearances for the club. He was part of the side that won the UEFA Cup in 1981. 

Osman had a brief spell at Brighton at the end of his career, making 17 appearances.

NICKY FORSTER

The forward scored eight goals in 25 appearances for Town, but injuries disrupted his time at the club. He left to join Hull City in the summer of 2006. 

Forster then went on to sign for Brighton in January 2007, notching 51 goals in 119 games during his three seasons. 

DAN HARDING

The full-back started his career at Brighton, where he went on to play more than 50 times for the club. He joined Leeds United on a free transfer in 2005. 

After only one season at Elland Road, Harding moved to Ipswich in a part-exchange deal for Ian Westlake. He made more than 50 appearances for Town. 

EDDIE SPEARRITT

The midfielder came through the ranks at Town, making over 50 appearances for the club in the 1960s. 

Spearritt was sold to Brighton for £20,000 in 1969, where he played over 200 times for the Seagulls. He is the uncle of Hannah Spearritt, a member of S Club 7.
