Ipswich Town Under-21s fell to a 2-0 defeat against Hull City at Playford Road this afternoon.

The young Blues went into this game off the back of a 3-0 win at Crewe but two first half goals from the Tigers saw them suffer their second defeat of their Professional Development campaign.

John McGreal's side conceded their first goal in the 24th minute when Noah Wandsworth delivered a curling corner which floated over in the strong wind and through keeper Alan Fleischer's hands into the back of the net.

Eight minutes later, the visitors went 2-0 up when Nathan Tinsdale curled a low shot past the diving Fleischer at his near post.

Town came close to pulling a goal back a few moments later when Emmanuel Okunowo's curling shot from the edge of the area struck the post. That was the closest the Blues came to scoring in the 90 minutes.

Overall, it was another frustrating afternoon for the young Blues, who were unable to get themselves into the game after going two behind.

It was a disappointing performance as Town weren't able to hit their normal standards and didn't create enough to test the opposition defence.

They were plenty of players showing frustration as nothing seemed to click, but this a learning experience for them.
