Ipswich Town have confirmed the signing of centre-back Dara O'Shea from Burnley.

The EADT and Ipswich Star understands the Blues agreed a fee of £12m that could rise to £15m with add-ons.

A 26-cap Republic of Ireland international, O'Shea has signed a five-year deal at Portman Road.

The 25-year-old made close to 100 appearances for West Brom before making a £7m move to newly-promoted Premier League side Burnley last season.

He follows winger Jack Clarke through the door, the 23-year-old winger having completed a £15m switch from Championship club Sunderland last night.

O'Shea is Town's 11th summer signing following Omari Hutchinson (Chelsea, £18m), Ben Johnson (West Ham, free), Jacob Greaves (Hull City, £15m), Liam Delap (Man City, £15m), Arijanet Muric (Burnley, £8m), Conor Townsend (West Brom, £500k), Sammie Szmodics (Blackburn Rovers, £9m), Kalvin Phillips (Man City, loan), Jens Cajuste (Napoli, loan) and Jack Clarke (Sunderland, £15m).

The O'Shea deal takes Town's summer spending - not including loan fees, add-ons and future buy clauses - to £92.5m.

As reported yesterday,  it's understood that Town are now unlikely to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja on loan due to issues with his medical.
