The forward was among the scorers for Wrexham as they secured a 3-2 home win against Wycombe Wanderers in League One.

Marriott, who joined the Welsh side on January deadline day, fired home a stunning volley past the Wanderers keeper to double his side's lead in the first half.

Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were in attendance as the Red Dragon marked their return to the third tier with a victory after a 19-year absence.

LOUIE BARRY

The attacker netted for Stockport County as they returned to League One, following a 14-year absence, with a 2-0 home win against Cambridge United.

Barry opened the scoring when he saw the U's keeper off his line, so he chipped him on the half-volley from 30 yards out.

He re-joined the Hatters on loan from Premier League side Aston Villa for a second spell last week, after helping them win promotion to the third tier last term.

ARMANDO DOBRA

The Albanian attacker scored for Chesterfield as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Swindon Town on their return to the EFL.

Dobra put Paul Cook's side in front on the 15th minute when he latched onto a rebound and turned the ball into the net from close range.

However, the Robins, who are managed by former Ipswich Town defender Mark Kennedy, equalised in the second half via Will Wright with a long-range strike.

JONNY WILLIAMS

The Welshman was among the scorers for Gillingham as they started their campaign with a 4-1 home win over newly-relegated Carlisle United in League Two.

Williams came off the bench to score his first league goal for the Kent side to seal the victory with an excellent low-driven shot which found the bottom corner of the net.

It was a perfect start for new Gills boss Mark Bonner at the Priestfield Stadium.

TOMMY HUGHES

The academy graduate scored for King's Lynn Town as they kicked off their National League North season with a 3-1 home victory over Warrington Town.

Hughes netted the Linnets second goal of the game when the ball fell to him in the box and he slammed home a shot from eight yards out.

The Norfolk side will look to improve on last season after finishing 18th in the sixth tier.
