Ipswich Town U21s have completed a friendly tournament in Canada after drawing 1-1 with Middlesbrough in the final game of the International Summer Series.

The young Blues played three games in total with David Wright in charge of the squad, which was a mix of U21s and U18s players.

Some of the regulars were missing though, due to them being in Austria with the senior squad - they were Finley Barbrook, Edwin Agbaje, Ryan Carr, Leon Ayinde, Osman Foyo and Jesse Nwabueze.

Canadian side Halifax Wanderers hosted the tournament and their development squad went on to beat Town 2-1 in the opening match at King George V Park in St. John’s, Newfoundland, with Revin Domi netting for the Blues.

The two sides faced each other again but this time at The Ness Timmons Soccer Field in Sydney, Nova Scotia, with the game ending 1-1. Nico Valentine was the Town goalscorer and they were then beaten 10-9 on penalties.

Town then faced Middlesbrough in their final game at Croix-Bleue Medavie Stadium in Moncton, New Brunswick, with Matty Roberts netting the goal for the Blues as they drew 1-1 with Boro.

The young Blues are next in action when they face Cole Skuse’s Bury Town at Ram Meadow this weekend as they continue their pre-season preparations.
