Former Ipswich Town forward Jordan Rhodes has signed for League One side Blackpool on a permanent basis, having spent the 2023-24 season on loan with the club.

The 34-year-old has signed a one-year deal after being released by relegated Huddersfield Town to end his second spell at the Terriers, having re-joined in 2021.

Rhodes scored 15 goals for Neil Critchley’s Blackpool, who narrowly missed out on a play-off spot, finishing eight in the third tier.

On signing permanently for the Tangerines, he said: "I'm very thankful to the head coach, the owner and sporting director for giving me the opportunity to get to this point,”

"I feel very lucky to hopefully get another chance to have another shot here at Blackpool. I loved being here each and every day last season and I feel lucky that I potentially get to do that again.

"It's a place I feel really accustomed to, it brings the best out of me and hopefully together we can kick on again this coming season."

In total, Rhodes made just 10 substitute appearances for Town, scoring one goal before manager Roy Keane allowed him to leave for just £350,000 in 2009.

He links up with two former Town players in Matthew Pennington and Dominic Thompson at Bloomfield Road.
