Several Ipswich Town players were out on loan this season. Ross Halls takes a look at how they got on.
CORRIE NDABA
The Irish defender impressed for Kilmarnock as they finished fourth in the Scottish Premiership to confirm their place in next season’s Europa League second qualifying round.
Ndaba missed a few games with an ankle injury but overall was a regular for Derek McInnes' side, making 37 appearances and scoring one goal.
He has largely played at left-back and helped Killie secure wins over both Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers.
The 24-year-old is contracted to Town until the summer of 2025, previously had loan stints at Hemel Hempstead, Chelmsford, Ayr United, Salford City, Burton Albion and Fleetwood Town.
IDRIS EL MIZOUNI
The Tunisian midfielder has played a starring role for Leyton Orient over the last 18 months, helping them secure the League Two title last campaign.
El Mizouni worn the captain's armband on multiple occasions this season as Richie Wellens' side finished 11th in the League One in their first season back in the third tier.
He has made 45 appearances and scored two goals but his season was ended with five games to go when he suffered an MCL injury in late March.
The 24-year-old's contract at Town is due to expire this summer, but the Blues have an option for a further season. We reported that Town knocked back low six-figure transfer bids from multiple League One clubs in January
GASSAN AHADME
The forward enjoyed a decent spell at Cambridge United as he helped them avoid the drop from League One as they finished 18th in table.
Ahadme scored 13 goals in 33 games under four different managers, despite suffering a foot injury midway through the campaign.
His goals were vital for the U's as they remained in the third tier for a fourth consecutive season.
The 23-year-old is contracted to Town until the summer of 2025, with the club having an option for a further season.
However, it seems unlikely that he will have a role to play at Portman Road going forward.
PANUTCHE CAMARA
The midfielder spent the season on loan at Charlton, who finished 16th in League One, having had three different managers.
Camara made just 13 appearances for the Addicks as he struggled with injuries and fitness in a stop-start spell in South East London.
He suffered a foot injury in the early stages of the season, before returning to action, only to injure his hamstring which saw him miss three months of the season.
The 27-year-old is out of contract with the Blues this summer, though the club have an option for a further season. It looks certain that he leave the club permanently.
FREDDIE LADAPO
The forward joined Camara at the Addicks in January, with Michael Appleton signing him but then being sacked shortly after and replaced by Nathan Jones.
Ladapo scored one goal in 14 appearances during his spell at the Valley but didn't feature in their final five games of the season.
He was among the other loan players that weren't picked in the matchday squad due to the Charlton boss wanting to use his own players.
The 31-year-old has another year remaining on his Blues contract but seems likely to depart on a permanent basis this summer.
ELKAN BAGGOTT
The defender joined Bristol Rovers on January deadline day and went on to make 14 appearances, scoring once for the Gas.
Baggott had a mixed bag spell for Matt Taylor's side, who finished 15th in the third tier.
He had a tough few games early on which culminated in him get subbed off in the first half of one game, before bouncing back and earning praise from the Rovers boss.
He was named in the League One and EFL Teams of the Week after scoring in a 3-1 away win against his former loan club Cheltenham Town.
The 21-year-old is under contract at Town until the summer of 2025, with the club having the option to extend that deal by a further year. Another loan looks likely for the Indonesian international.
NICK HAYES
The keeper has now left the club to join Barnet on a permanent deal having enjoying a successful loan spell at fellow National League side Solihull Moors.
Hayes featured for the Moors in their play-off and FA Trophy final defeats at Wembley, while he also had a emergency loan at Southend United in October last year.
The 25-year-old was out of contract at Portman Road this summer after he re-joined the Blues in January 2022 from Hemel Hempstead, having previously been in the academy at Portman Road.
YOUNGSTERS
There were multiple Town U21s players who spent time out on loan during the 2023/24 season with midfielder Fin Barbrook and goalkeeper Henry Gray the headliners as they impressed for Chelmsford City in the National League South.
Defender Harry Barbrook and Matt Ward spent some time at Braintree Town, with the Iron being promoted to the National League after the duo departed.
Defender Cameron Stewart was on loan at Scottish League One side Cove Rangers for the entire season, while midfielder Jack Manly had a impressive stint at Leiston, alongside defender Michael Lavin and Ash Boatswain.
Midfielder Ryan Carr played well at Aveley in the sixth tier alongside defender Ayyuba Jambang who had his loan cut short due to injury.
Overall, it was a mixed bag for these players but a good learning experience for them as some were having their first taste of senior football.
The club now have a full-time loans manager in former Town defender Chris Casement, who has done a good job in getting plenty of players out on loan and playing during the 2023/24 season.
