Former Ipswich Town goalkeeper Kelvin Davis has been awarded a new three-year contract as manager of National League side Eastleigh.

The 47-year-old landed his first managerial job in February, replacing Richard Hill, and has now signed a new deal until the end of the 2026/27 season.

He led the Spitfires to six victories in 13 games, including five clean sheets, as they finished 13th in the fifth tier.

His assistant Danny Butterfield will also remain at Silverlake Stadium.

After signing the new deal, Davis said: “It’s really important to understand that the project at Eastleigh FC is a big one and one we’re really excited to get our teeth into.

"Myself and Danny (Butterfield) have seen the potential since we’ve come into the club. Every time I’ve been coming to the club, it’s taking steps forward each time that I’m in the environment.

"It’s great that we can be part of the future of the football club and hopefully build something that can progress in the years to come.”

Davis retired from football in 2016 and subsequently served as both caretaker boss and first team coach at Southampton before leaving the club at the end of the 2021/22 season.

He made 93 appearances during his two seasons at Portman Road, where he helped the Blues reach the Championship play-offs in both campaigns.
