Former Ipswich Town forward Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has suffered relegation from the National League with Kidderminster Harriers.

Phil Brown's side were officially relegated on Saturday following their 1-0 home defeat by Eastleigh, having spent just one season in the fifth tier.

The Harriers beat Brackley Town 2-0 in the play-off final to earn promotion last campaign but have lost 21 games in their first season at this level since 2014/15.

Emmanuel-Thomas joined them in February after being without a club since leaving Indian Super League side side Jamshedpur in June last year.

The 33-year-old hasn't been able to help prevent the Harriers being relegated back to the sixth tier after failing to score in eight games in what was his first spell back in England since 2018.

He joined Ipswich for £1.1m from Arsenal in 2011, but he departed the Blues two years later to join Bristol City in a straight swap for Paul Anderson.

In total, he scored nine goals in 75 games during his spell at Portman Road.
