Ipswich Town midfielder Idris El Mizouni, who is on loan at League One side Leyton Orient, has suffered a potentially season-ending injury.
O's manager Richie Wellens confirmed the 23-year-old suffered a suspected MCL injury in their 1-0 defeat at Lincoln City on Good Friday.
He said: "We think it's a MCL injury, so he's likely to be out for two to three months, which coming to the end of the season it's not too bad for him."
El Mziouni is in his second season on loan at Brisbane Road and has played a starring role at Orient over the last 18 months, helping them secure the League Two title last season.
He has taken on the captain's armband throughout this campaign in League One, making 45 appearances and scoring two goals as the newly-promoted side battle for the play-offs.
Overall he has played 89 games, scoring five goals during his two spells in East London.
The Tunisian midfielder's contract at Town is due to expire this summer, but the Blues have an option for a further season.
His impressive performances in the third-tier have attracted the attention of several clubs at that level after we reported that Town knocked back low six-figure transfer bids from multiple League One clubs.
In total he has made 26 appearances, scoring two goals, for the Blues after coming through the youth ranks at Town, He's spent time on loan at Cambridge United and Grimsby Town previously.
