Suffolk Anglia Mens Over 60s team have reached a national final after a semi final triumph in a tricky penalty shoot out.
The Suffolk men met Gloucestershire & Herefordshire Masters A Men 060 for an exciting semi final match at Culford School on March 24.
They are now in the final for the England Hockey Mens over 60s Tier 2 Championships on Sunday April 14.
The start of the game saw the visitors looking much the tidier of the two sides against Suffolk who looked a bit ragged and unsure.
But eventually they found decent shape and the match settled into some opportune end to end play for both sides.
After the half time talk with coach/player Mark Dudley and skipper Tim Blackburn, Suffolk kept the game in their half.
Good build-up of play resulted in a run of five short corners with the first clipping the outer post and the others magnificently saved by the opposition goalkeeper.
On the break Gloucestershire & Herefordshire looked nippy and a goal looked more likely for them from open play.
The game ended 0-0 but a combination of saves by Suffolk GK Alasdair North and the winning penalty flick from Blackburn saw Suffolk clinch the win by 4 penalty flicks to 2.
Now Thas Suffen Good.
Suffolk reached the finally by beating Sikh Union Coventry Men 3-2 at home followed by another 3-2 win away early March against Lindum (Lincoln) Men.
They will now meet Bowdon in the final who beat Epsom 3-1.
