Designs for Ipswich Town's new multi-million pound training ground rebuild have been revealed for the first time.
Three brand new pitches were installed at Playford Road last season, at a cost of £1.5m, with focus then switching to upgrading the buildings and facilities around them.
Liverpool-based architects KKA, who designed Bristol City's new-look stadium and training ground when Town chief executive Mark Ashton was there, were tasked with the job of designing a 'world class' set-up.
Now the EADT and Ipswich Star can share those designs with you for the first time after Ashton presented them to players and staff recently.
The main entrance to the site will now be off Rushmere Street, with a new parking area built to the right of where the dome currently is and a new state of the art 'performance centre' erected to the left of it overlooking the first team training pitch.
The current main building will become the dedicated academy building.
Speaking to the EADT and Ipswich Star back in November, Ashton was quizzed on the timeframe of the training ground redevelopment.
He explained: "In an ideal world I’d like to break ground before the summer, then you’ve probably got a 10-12 month build time on it. We’ll move at breakneck speed."
