Man of the moment Omari Hutchinson has revealed he's putting international football on the backburner while he focuses all his efforts on Ipswich Town.

The Chelsea loanee bagged two goals and an assist as the Blues crushed Sheffield Wednesday 6-0 on Saturday, the latest in an increasingly long line of superb showings for Town.

And the 20-year-old, who's scored eight goals and laid on five assists this season, explained post-match that he's received international call-ups for both England and Jamaica - but turned them down.

Hutchinson has been capped twice by Jamaica - where his father Leon was born - in friendlies, plus represented England at U17 and U19 level.

The all-action attacker said he had been called up again by England (U20s or U21s) and the Reggae Boyz' first team.

“I got called up for both, but for me I want to leave international out this season and just focus on getting promotion," he explained.

“There’s a lot of games and my body is quite sore, it’s my first season in men’s football.

“So I just said I want to leave it all out and just focus on Ipswich.”

While he won't be playing for either this season, Hutchinson knows at some point he'll have to decide between the two footballing nations - and admitted it's a big call.

“It’s a tough decision," he said. "Me and my family are always talking about it.

“I’ve got a lot of time to think about it – as long as I’m performing in club football, the chances are always going to be there.

“But it’s a difficult choice – I don’t know which to choose yet, so I said let me just leave it and focus on Ipswich.”
