Ipswich Town fell to their fifth defeat of the Championship campaign, conceding twice in stoppage time to lose 2-1 to Cardiff City. Alex Jones provides his player ratings.
Vaclav Hladky
Made a great save early on but didn't have a great deal to do after. Didn't look like there was much he could've done with the late goals. Distribution was fine. 6
Harry Clarke
A lot to like in terms of the way that he battled and got up the pitch. Cardiff did have some joy down his flank early on. 6
Luke Woolfenden
Got into a bit of a muddle for the first goal as Rubin Colwill's cross just bounced past him. Defended pretty well other than that, but his positioning just wasn't as sharp in stoppage time. 6
Cameron Burgess
Like Woolfenden, got dragged out for the first goal, but it's the second that'll be seen as the frustrating one given that he missed the header that created the space for Cardiff. Had defended quite well until that point. 5
Leif Davis
Didn't track the run for the equaliser, leaving Jack Taylor pretty exposed trying to stop the cross. Didn't get drawn to the ball for the second but needed to act faster as the ball came to Callum O'Dowda. Didn't have much of an impact going forward. 5
Sam Morsy
Incredibly lucky to avoid an early booking for a strong challenge on Manolis Siopis and looked off the pace in the first half. Improved in the second, and finished the game with the most tackles (5) and the highest passing accuracy (93%). Clear improvement, but really could've done with a bit more from him early doors when he was bypassed far too easily by Karlan Grant. 6
Massimo Luongo
Some nice moments in possession, especially to get the ball out wide and into dangerous, but not enough in terms of surging runs. Got quite a lot of joy through the middle in the first half but ended up being outnumbered. 6
Wes Burns
Ran his socks off but to no real avail. Marked well by Josh Wilson-Esbrand and often forced to go too wide or to cut back. Just lacking a bit of cutting edge. 6
Conor Chaplin
Had a shot blocked in the first half, which was one of four attempts that Town had before the break. Too quiet other than that as Cardiff afforded him no real space to work with. Subbed just after the hour. 5
Jeremy Sarmiento
Another game where he wasn't bad, but he just didn't suit being a starter. Not really his game either, as he had limited time on the ball and, like Chaplin, not a lot of space to work with. Needed a bit more spark in his performance. Also hooked just after the 60th minute. 5
Kieffer Moore
A real warrior today. Had to deal with two tough centre-backs, yet ended up winning the most duels of anyone on the pitch (10). Picked up a nasty cut, soldiered on and bagged the goal that could've been the winner with a really fine finish. 8 (Man of the Match)
Sub: Nathan Broadhead (64')
Understandably not at his best, given that he's missed the last couple of games. Town really could've done with his threat from the start, but he didn't look overly sharp off the bench, and certainly wasn't the ideal player to help defend a 1-0 lead, which isn't his fault. Cardiff targeted Ipswich's left in stoppage time knowing that Davis and Broadhead both prefer to attack. 6
Sub: Omari Hutchinson (65')
Curled a long-range effort into the gloves of Ethan Horvath just before Town bagged the opener. He may not have done much, but he certainly opened up some gaps and exploited some tired legs. It just took a while to get to that point. 6
Sub: Jack Taylor (76')
If Kieran McKenna had known that Moore was going to score three minutes after bringing on Taylor, he probably would've turned to Lewis Travis instead. Got pulled into some difficult defensive areas, but it's not his strength. 6
Sub: Marcus Harness (76')
His assist for Moore's goal was excellent, and exactly what he was brought on to do. Even if the striker didn't get the goal, there were options in the middle too. On another day, it could've been a decisive moment in the game, and he didn't have much else to do. 7
Sub: Ali Al-Hamadi (89')
