Ipswich Town recorded their fifth win in a row, beating Plymouth Argyle 2-0 at Home Park. Alex Jones provides his player ratings.

Vaclav Hladky

Some clear issues playing out from the back, although the conditions didn’t help, nor did Plymouth’s intense press. Only had to make one save, but now has 11 clean sheets to his name. This wasn’t an easy game for him. 7

Axel Tuanzebe

Darko Gyabi looked a real handful but Tuanzebe handled him really well. He looked excellent in one-on-one situations and recovered really well if he was ever beaten. He’s shown a massive improvement in the last couple of games. 8

Luke Woolfenden

Made an astonishing goal-line block to deny Mickel Miller from close range. Other than that, his positioning was superb and he looked really slick on the ball. Limited Ryan Hardie to just 14 touches across the 90 minutes. Another great performance. 9 (Man of the Match)

Cameron Burgess

His kind of game. Got stuck in, showed his physicality and worked well with Woolfenden to isolate Plymouth’s front line. Stood tall when under pressure. 8

Leif Davis

Another game where he was limited going forward but still created more chances (3) than anyone on the pitch. Town kept looking to him to break down the defensive line, and while he couldn’t do it every time, he managed that responsibility well. Impressively kept Morgan Whittaker quiet throughout. 8

Sam Morsy

The metronome. Most passes in the game (59) and boasted the highest passing accuracy of anyone to play more than 45 minutes (92%). Looked absolutely fine in the absence of his usual midfield partner. 8

Lewis Travis

Totally different to Massimo Luongo but suited this game well. Thankfully referee Josh Smith took a lenient view to his fouls, not booking him until the 78th minute. Showed aggression and tenacity in a tough game. 8

Omari Hutchinson

Was unfortunate to be penalised for some very harsh fouls. When he was allowed to play, he looked bright and lively as usual. His positioning and movement was excellent as always, even if he didn’t have a chance to show his end product. 8

Conor Chaplin

Like Davis, Chaplin had a pretty quiet game, but he easily could’ve ended with a goal and an assist. Forced the own-goal and then set up Moore to win it. Came close with an audacious effort from the halfway line and created some really good chances. 8

Jeremy Sarmiento

Not the easiest of games for him to come into. Looked bright at times, but the conditions made it hard. Town tried to play everything through Hutchinson, which left him a bit isolated on the left. Did show some real aggression and played an excellent pass to the Chelsea loanee in the first half. 7

Kieffer Moore

Battled incredibly hard, as always. Big, physical, commanding. His finish was emphatic and his impact was clear for all to see. The presence that Town have been crying out for since George Hirst’s injury. 8

Sub: Marcus Harness (68')

Not a super sub this time, but looked really good off the bench. Singled out for praise by Kieran McKenna after the game. Helped Town see out a tough period. 7

Sub: Harry Clarke (80')

Only had a handful of touches but tried his best to get the ball up the pitch in the latter stages. 6

Sub: Ali Al-Hamadi (81')

Got into a really good position down the right but flashed his shot wide of the target. 6

Sub: Dom Ball (90+2)
