Ipswich Town U21s were thrashed 8-1 by Charlton Athletic at Playford Road in Professional Development League Two South this afternoon.
John McGreal's side went into this game having won their last league clash 3-2 away at Colchester United, but beaten 1-0 by Crystal Palace and knocked out of the Premier League Cup last week.
The Addicks opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Thierry Small raced down the left and put in a cross which found Henry Rylah who fired home.

They would double their advantage six minutes later when Patrick Casey converted Man City loanee Lewis Fiorini's cross.
Casey would go on to score his second when he raced onto Ryan Huke's ball and finished with a cool strike to make it 3-0.
Huke then scored himself to make it 4-0 in the 38th minute when he fired home after Fiorini's shot was saved by Town's keeper Charlie Binns.
It was then 5-0 just before half-time when Casey flicked the ball into the path of Tolu Ladapo, who finished past Binns into the net.
Ten minutes after the restart Euan Williams scored the visitors' sixth goal, before making it a brace just after the hour mark to put Charlton 7-0 up.
Fiorini then headed home their eighth when he got on the end of Nathan Asiimwe's cross, before Town pulled a goal back when Daniel O'Connor scored with a header.
This was a tough afternoon for the young Blues as they came up against a very impressive Charlton side, who were ruthless in front of goal.
It was another learning curve for this young Town side as they suffered their second heavy defeat at the hands of the Addicks this season, having lost 5-0 back in November.
New signing Daniel Babb made his first appearance since signing from League of Ireland side UCD last month but was replaced at half-time after a tough first half.
Overall, it was one of those games where Town were punished for individual errors and mistake which Charlton capitalised on.
A reminder though that this is a very young Blues side, which includes many 17 and 18-year-olds in the starting XI, and they have played very well throughout this campaign.
They will look to get back to winning ways when they host Swansea City next Tuesday.
Town: Binns, Babb (Jambang), H Barbrook, Mazionis, O'Connor, Turner, Ayinde (Morgan), Okunowo (Taylor), Buabo (Boatswain), Roberts, Foyo.
