Ipswich Town are interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Jessic Ngankam according to a report from Germany.
fussball.news journalist Christopher Michel has claimed that the Blues are one of three parties to have enquired about signing the 23-year-old on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Premier League side Luton Town and Belgian Pro League outfit Royal Antwerp are also said to have asked about his availability, while other outlets have linked him with a move to Hellas Verona and Mainz.
Ngankam started his career at Hertha Berlin. He switched to Greuther Furth after a brief loan spell in 2021/22, but eventually found himself back in the capital just a year later.
A move to Frankfurt followed in July 2023, but with just 23 appearances to his name in all competitions, the club are reportedly open to letting him leave on loan.
Egypt international Omar Marmoush and Wolves Sasa Kalajdzic are both ahead of him in the pecking order, while Hugo Ekitike continues to be linked with a move from PSG.
Ngankam has played 15 Bundesliga games so far this season but is yet to find the back of the net. He's also featured in the UEFA Conference League, bagging a goal and an assist against Levski Sofia in qualifying.
His other goals came in a 7-0 win against Lokomotive Leipzig in the DFB Pokal, where he scored a brace.
The forward has represented Germany at various youth levels, playing five games for the under-21's in 2023, scoring once.
A departure from the Deutsche Bank Park will have to be completed by 5pm on Thursday, as transfer deadline day ends earlier for German clubs than the rest of Europe.
Meanwhile, The Express have reported that Blackburn Rovers are 'categorically unwilling to sell' Town target Sam Gallagher as they don't have a replacement lined up. The 28-year-old scored for Jon Dahl Tomasson's side in yesterday's FA Cup win against Wrexham.
