Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna says there's a possibility that homegrown duo Cameron Humphreys and Elkan Baggott both go out on loan before the transfer window shuts next Thursday.

Midfielder Humphreys, 20, has made seven senior appearances so far this season - just one of them a league start - and is yet to experience a loan away.

As it stands, he is acting as the back-up to left-back Leif Davis with both Brandon Williams and Janoi Donacien unavailable.

Asked if Humphreys might depart on loan, McKenna replied: "Yeah, it's a possibility. It would realistically be likely on additions. At the moment we have 18 outfielders fit and available, so we have to make sure we have enough strength to be ready for the second half of the season.

"Cameron is certainly contributing very well. He's played games over the Christmas period and was actually going to one on Monday night before we scored. So he's very much an important member of the squad at the moment."

Centre-back Baggott, 21, has made four League Cup appearances for the Blues this season and is currently away at the Asian Cup with Indonesia. He had loans spells at Gillingham and Cheltenham last season.

There are four centre-backs ahead of him in the pecking order in Luke Woolfenden, Cameron Burgess, Axel Tuanzebe and George Edmundson.

On Baggott, McKenna said: "Elkan was an important member of the squad before he went away. There are discussions ongoing with him that of course need to come to a conclusion by next week as to whether he remains with us for the second half of the season or goes out on loan."
