Ipswich Town are interested in Sheffield Wednesday's experienced wide man Marvin Johnson but, contrary to reports, haven't had a £1m bid rejected.
The Sheffield Star reported last night that there was 'firm interest' from the Blues in a player who has recently hit top form for an Owls side struggling towards the bottom end of the Championship table.
Today, the BBC has said that the two clubs are 'in talks', while the Daily Telegraph and talkSPORT has reported that a bid has been rejected, the latter suggesting a fee of £1m has been knocked back.
#ITFC are in talks with #SWFC over Marvin Johnson. Initial £1m offer rejected as Weds see Johnson as integral part of the team and are want fee that reflects that. Movement on fee expected in the next 24-48 hours. Johnson loyal to Weds fans but ambitious to play at highest level

A source has told the EADT and Ipswich Star that while Johnson is a player of interest to Kieran McKenna, no formal bid has yet been lodged and the club would not be prepared to pay any more than a nominal fee for a player who recently turned 33.
Johnson was out of contract last summer but eventually signed a new deal at Hillsborough of undisclosed length. He is capable of playing left-wing or left-back.
Leif Davis, with 10 assists to his name, is a key man for Town at left-back, but Brandon Williams going back to Manchester United for 'medical assessment' and Janoi Donacien being sidelined with a groin injury means there is little back-up.
Town don't play with an out-and-out left-winger. Nathan Broadhead is the first choice inside left forward, with recent recruit Jeremy Sarmiento, Marcus Harness and Omari Hutchinson providing good depth for that role.
Ipswich have made bid for Sheffield Wednesday winger Marvin Johnson to give him dream move in promotion attempt to the Premier League. Decision to be made by #SWFC on deal. More @TeleFootball #ITFC First called by @SheffieldStar
