Blackburn Rovers boss Jon Dahl Tomasson says that he has 'no problem' with Lewis Travis ahead of his loan move to Ipswich Town.

Some supporters had questioned whether there had been a rift between the manager and the club captain after his departure was reported this morning.

Blackburn turned down an offer of £800,000 from Millwall for Travis in the summer, while MLS outfit Atlanta United and Premier League side Luton Town were also reportedly interested in him heading into the 2023/24 campaign.

It makes the decision to allow him to leave on loan seem even more bizarre, although Tomasson has been quick to reassure supporters that the move will benefit all parties.

"I have absolutely no problem with Trav," he said.

"We all know he wanted to leave in the summer and then also wanted to go in October.

"He wanted to play the number 6 position, at the moment we have Tronstad playing very well in that position.

"He's one of the more expensive boys in our group, so it will free some space up in the financial department to get some players in as well."
