Ipswich Town captain Sam Morsy has been handed a one-match ban for an incident that occured after his side's 2-0 win away at Middlesbrough.
A statement from the FA states that the midfielder breached rule E3.1, resulting in a suspension and a £5,000 fine.
It goes on to explain that Morsy 'acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive words and/or behaviour towards a match official in or around the changing rooms following the completion of the fixture. An independent Regulatory Commission imposed his sanctions following a hearing.'
Ipswich have subsequently confirmed the ban, stating that 'Sam accepts the charge, and both the Club and the midfielder will make no further comment.'
As a result, Morsy will miss Friday's clash against QPR at Portman Road, although he'll be available for selection away at Stoke City on New Year's Day.
With nine yellow cards to his name so far this season, the Egyptian international is one booking away from a two-match suspension.
