Ipswich Town picked up their sixth away win of the season, beating Middlesbrough 2-0 at the Riverside. Alex Jones provides his player ratings.

Vaclav Hladky

Ice cool on the ball. Made a couple of excellent saves in the second half. Commanded his box superbly. Showing why he's been one of, if not the best goalkeeper in the Championship so far this season. 8

Harry Clarke

Solid. Had a tough task in dealing with Morgan Rogers, but he did well to force him inside where the former Man City man was quickly nullified. Did feel like Boro targeted that side when they came forward, but they didn't have much luck. 7

Luke Woolfenden

Some frustrating moments. A poor pass that almost allowed Boro to score in the first half. Almost scored an own goal after the break. He made up for it with some good moments on the ball, however, and the hosts seemed to have no idea how to press him. His unique style doesn't work in every game, but it largely did today. 7

Cameron Burgess

Exceptional off the ball. His positioning was perfect throughout. Countless interceptions to stop Boro dead in their tracks when they looked to threaten. His physicality was vital. Passes weren't quite as sharp today, but can't be criticised too much for that. 8

Leif Davis

Not as influential today. Unlucky not to score his first goal of the season. Crossing was a little bit off, but has to be given credit for his role in the clean sheet. His defensive side was really brought out. 7

Sam Morsy

So, so good for 94 minutes. Possibly lucky to avoid a booking right at the start, but he maintained his aggression without letting it spill over. Excellent on the ball and solid on transitions. Has to lose a point for his late yellow card. One away from a two-match ban. 7

Jack Taylor

The best thing to be said about his performance is that nobody noticed Massimo Luongo's absence. Ended up as a like-for-like switch because Jack Taylor matched those levels. Dictated play throughout and came close with a shot from distance towards the end. 8

Wes Burns

A standard Wes Burns performance. A constant threat as he's always the outlet. His end product was inconsistent, but he still created the chance for Conor Chaplin's opener. He can be a real nightmare to handle, but probably needs to do it on a more consistent basis. 7

Conor Chaplin

Fantastic performance. Did really well with the opener, regardless of the deflection. It takes a lot of skill to score a goal like that from the edge of the area. Then set up Omari Hutchinson with a superb through ball to kill the game in the second half. Wasn't involved in a lot outside of that, but he didn't need to be. 8 (Man of the Match)

Nathan Broadhead

Again, not as lively as we've seen him before, but he worked really hard. Some nice moments on the ball while working in a deeper, central role. Ran his socks off to keep the ball alive in the final third. Can't fault his effort, but the attacking intent wasn't there. 7

George Hirst

Worked unbelievably hard and battled until the minute he went off, but didn't have a lot go his way. A couple of poor misses and some moments where his teammates needed to do more to pick him out. Dropped deep to let Hutchinson run through for the second. Like Burns, this was a standard George Hirst performance. 7

Sub: Omari Hutchinson (62')

Did exactly what he was brought on to do. Had acres of space to run into but his positioning was perfect as Chaplin's through ball came to him. Remained calm and composed to tuck it into the net. Didn't do much after that, but he didn't really need to. 7

Sub: Marcus Harness (76')

Fired just over the bar late on. Unlucky. 6

Sub: Kayden Jackson (76')

Had little to do given the state of play when he came on. Just nine touches. 6
