Ipswich Town youngster Alex Graham, who was stretchered off while playing for the under-18's against Swansea City, has announced that he has suffered another MCL injury.
The 17-year-old started for the young Blues in their FA Youth Cup clash, but he went down on the turf in a great deal of pain in the first half and was eventually taken off the field on the stretcher buggy.
He was seen back on the bench in the second half to support his teammates and since announced that he has suffered his second MCL injury.
Graham has been at the club since the age of eight, having moved to England from Cyprus the previous year. He became a full academy player in the summer of 2022.
The right-back was only 15 when he made his under-18's debut and since made his international debut for Cyprus at under-17's level.
Unfortunately, he has had a rough few seasons, with his first injury coming in his first year as scholar. He missed six months of football after suffering a patellar tendinopathy injury, but he came back and finished the season strong by scoring a wonder goal.
However, he did his MCL twice in one game in a pre-season friendly at the end of July. It ended up being a grade 2 tear, ruling him out for four months.
Graham had only just returned to full fitness before suffering another MCL injury in a similar tackle during the defeat to Swansea.
The Blues, who reached the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup in 2022/23, fell at the first hurdle of this season's competition despite Steven Turner's first half penalty.
