Former Town full-back Josh Emmanuel has a new club, signing for League One side Carlisle United on a deal until the end of the season.
He has been without a club since leaving League Two side Grimsby Town in the summer and now joins the Cumbrians, who currently sit 22nd in the third tier.
The 26-year-old made a total of 29 appearances for Town, before he left the club in 2019 and went on to play for Bolton and Hull, playing a key role in the latter’s promotion back to the Championship in 2020/21.
Emmanuel didn't play football for over a year due to a illness which he revealed was a clot that initially stunted his speech and meant he was unable to move the left side of his body.
He reunited with former Town boss Paul Hurst at Grimsby in January and helped them reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup last season.
The right-back left the Mariners at the end of his short term contract with GrimsbyLive reporting that Emmanuel was let go as ‘the likelihood is he will have offers higher up the pyramid’.
He has been training with Paul Simpson's side for a number of weeks and will join familiar faces at Brunton Park in the form of former Town team-mates Tomas Holy and Joe Garner.
