Ipswich Town continued their remarkable run with yet another win at Portman Road, beating Plymouth Argyle 3-2. Alex Jones provides his player ratings.

Vaclav Hladky

Absolutely nothing he could do about Morgan Whittaker's screamer or Plymouth's late consolation. Largely untroubled in the first half but made two outstading saves late on to deny Dan Scarr and Joe Edwards. Sweeping runs and clearances galore. Mr. Reliable yet again. 9 (Man of the Match)

Brandon Williams

Fans love him and you can see why. Flying tackles, darting runs and a huge determination to not be beaten. Drew fouls and really frustrated Plymouth. Another exceptional performance, keeping Harry Clarke out of the team for now. 8

George Edmundson

Some good moments on the ball, especially helping Town move up the pitch, but found it hard defensively. Could've stayed tighter to Whittaker for the opener and easily could've picked up a red card for a tackle on Mustapha Bundu on the edge of the area. Did make the most duels (10) and the most tackles (4), and deserves credit for helping Ipswich hold on. 7

Luke Woolfenden

Isn't usually tasked with doing a lot of defending, which is usually Cameron Burgess' area, but he did today. Looked a bit uncomfortable at times and picked up a booking. Had to deal with a front line that had a lot of pace. 7

Leif Davis

Despite a pretty sloppy first half, where he got into good positions but really lacked a killer pass, he created the most chances (6) of anyone on the pitch and set up two of Town's three goals. Like Town, even on his bad days, he's pretty damn good. 8

Sam Morsy

Lacked composure in the first half and made some really sloppy mistakes, but got stuck in with some strong tackles before pushing Ipswich up the field. Perhaps could've done more to shield the back line at the end, but it wasn't that kind of game. 7

Massimo Luongo

Involved in a bit of everything. Had a bit more quality than Morsy on the ball while also making some crunching tackles. His backheel created the equaliser and he denied a certain goal with an excellent tackle inside the box. Hooked for Jack Taylor due to picking up a booking. 8

Omari Hutchinson

Lively. Made some poor decisions in the first half and lost more duels (10) than anyone on the pitch across the 90 minutes. When he got going, he did cause Plymouth some real issues, but he's had better games. Hooked for Kayden Jackson to see out the game. 7

Conor Chaplin

Always involved in everything Town did going forward. Played a vital part in creating chances, but the end product from his teammates was occasionally lacking. Worked hard and did some good things, but a frustrating day for him, perhaps. Replaced by Harry Clarke late on. 7

Nathan Broadhead

One of his quieter games. Struggled in wide areas and eventually moved more centrally after realising that he had more space. Missed a golden opportunity to equalise in the first half. Hooked for Marcus Harness in the 65th minute. 7

George Hirst

Struggled to stay onside when Town went long to him, but a real emphatic strike to put Town ahead in the second half. Battled hard and deserved his reward. Brought off for Dane Scarlett at the end of the game. 8

Sub: Marcus Harness (65')

Yet another fantastic cameo, doing the two things he was brought on to do. Firstly, he bagged the Blues' third goal of the game, tucking a good shot into the net after his initial effort was blocked. He then did incredibly well to slow down the momentum of the game by carrying the ball out of the danger zone in vital moments. He's so important in this squad. 8

Sub: Jack Taylor (65')

Replaced Luongo well, linking up play with real composure. Needs more minutes to really hit his best, but he showed what he can do. 7

Sub: Dane Scarlett (77')

Chased and battled to run down the clock, but another game where he didn't have the time to influence proceedings. Just six touches in total. 6

Sub: Kayden Jackson (77')

His pace helped bring the ball forward to run down the clock, but like Scarlett, didn't get much time on the ball. 6

Sub: Harry Clarke (83')
