Ipswich boxing star Fabio Wardley says he hopes 'all the marbles are in' when he faces David Adeleye in Saudi Arabia next month.
The 28-year-old (16-0, 15KO) will face domestic rival Adeleye (12-0, 11KO) in Riyadh on Saturday, October 28, that fight acting as chief support to Tyson Fury's intriguing clash with versus former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
It remains to be seen if Wardley's British heavyweight title will be on the line.
Speaking at tonight's press conference, the former Chantry High School pupil said: "That's still to be confirmed. Obviously I want all the marbles to be in - I want to throw my WBA in, I want his WBO in there, I want the British in there.
"If that's not the case though, it still won't take away from a great fight.
"I see it going the way my other 15 fights have gone. He'll be gone inside the distance, most definitely.
"These are the type of fights I thrive on. It's all fun and games getting rid of some journeyman in a couple of rounds, but competitive ones like this really get me going.
"It might get a bit tasty in there and you have got to see if you have got it or you haven't. So far I have always proven that I have more than got it."
Asked how close he thought he was to being able to challenge the likes of Fury, Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk and Deontay Wilder, Wardley replied: "I don't think I'm far off. Give it another 18 months or so, a couple more tests, and I think I'll be ready to step in with some high level guys."
Wardley had been due to fight Olympic bronze medallist Frazer Clarke next until the latter's promotion team withdrew their fighter. There had been discussions about potentially holding that fight at Portman Road, home of Wardley's beloved Ipswich Town, with promoter Eddie Hearn having met with Blues chief executive Mark Ashton back in April.
