It forecasted matches based on a complex formula and ran the simulation 10,000 times, leaving the stats wizards with the average final standings and a table of probabilities for each team in terms of finishing position.
And the computer believes Ipswich Town will finish fifth this season.
The statisticians wrote: "Ipswich Town, with last season's record-breaking xG of 2.16 and xGA of 0.94, redefined the performance benchmark in League One since we began tracking expected goals in the 2018/19 season.
"Their goal difference of +66 represents another league record, marking the best total over the past 10 years.

"Their impressive underlying statistical profile sees our model gives The Tractor Boys a 44.2% chance of achieving a play-off spot in the upcoming Championship campaign."
The computer predicted that relegated sides Leicester City and Leeds United will duke it ou for the title, while Plymouth, Qpr and Rotherha will be relegated.
Town's old rivals Norwich are tipped to finish 11th.
