Ipswich Town striker Gassan Ahadme has joined League One side Cambridge United on a season-long loan.
The 22-year-old joined the Blues from Burton Albion on summer transfer deadline day 2022 for what was understood to be a low six-figure fee.
A foot fracture suffered at Plymouth made for a false start and, come January deadline day, he was loaned back to Burton having scored one goal in one start and seven sub appearances.
The Brewers' need to shuffle their army of loan players saw Ahadme restricted to just two league starts in the second half of last season.
He joins a Cambridge side that finished one point above the drop zone. The U's have seen front men Sam Smith and Joe Ironside depart this summer.
Ahadme still has two years left on his deal at Portman Road, with the club holding an option to extend that by a further 12 months.
Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna currently has two senior strikers in the form of Freddie Ladapo and returning loanee Joe Pigott, with Kayden Jackson having been converted into a winger last season.
Ahadme becomes the second player to leave Ipswich on loan this summer following defender Corrie Ndaba's move to Scottish club Kilmarock.
