Ipswich Town have made moves for two Premier League youngsters, according to The Sun.

The national paper reports that a £3.5m bid has been made to sign Everton striker Ellis Simms, while the Blues are 'close to clinching' a season-long loan for Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

Following productive loans spells at Blackpool (League One) and Hearts (SPL), Simms started last season at newly-promoted Championship club Sunderland.

Seven goals before the turn of the year saw the 22-year-old recalled by the injury-hit Toffees and he featured 11 times in the Premier League (two starts), scoring an important late equaliser at Chelsea as Sean Dyche's men beat the drop.

Exciting wide man Rak-Sakyi has just enjoyed an outstanding 15-goal season on loan at League One club Charlton. The 20-year-old was first linked with the Blues last December.
