Ipswich Town beat Peterborough United 3-0 at London Road this afternoon. Andy Warren hands out his player ratings.

Christian Walton

An afternoon where Ipswich Town’s goalkeeper played a big part in the victory. He made a great save from Ephron Mason-Clark and gathered the following corner well despite looking like he was fouled. Stopped Jonson Clarke-Harris in first-half stoppage time before thwarting the league’s top scorer again in the second half. Was supremely impressive with balls in the air, too.

Harry Clarke

Ipswich’s right side was tested a fair amount during this game, with Clarke standing up to the challenge throughout his time on the field but also leaving a few gaps in behind which the hosts couldn’t quite exploit. Replaced by Janoi Donacien in the second half.

Luke Woolfenden

Another excellent performance from the Ipswich Town defence, with Woolfenden reading this game very well and playing with confidence. Good on the ball, good in the air and good on the ground, producing what was needed.

Cameron Burgess

Another calm and controlled display from a centre-back who has been excellent of late. Produced a brilliant block to stop Harrison Burrows in the second half and was otherwise very solid. He and Woolfenden aren’t always discussed, given Ipswich’s attacking weapons, but they are very good.

Leif Davis

Another very good performance from the left-sider, whose defensive play probably overshadowed his efforts going forward in this one. Both were good, though. Davis faced plenty of pressure at the back post, which hasn’t always been a strength, but he defended that well throughout the game.

Sam Morsy

In a game packed with plenty of niggly challenges, Morsy set a tone in midfield and dominated his opponents. Another top display which, at last, included the Ipswich fans finding a tune to sing his name too. Super Samy Morsy.

Massimo Luongo

Another excellent midfield display from the Australian, who was strong in the tackle and neat on the ball, all while showing an excellent ability to ride through Posh tackles and emerging with possession.

Wes Burns

The Welshman enjoyed celebrating his opening goal in front of the home fans, picking his spot superbly to convert a difficult chance to give his side a lead they would never lose. Good on the ball, delivering some dangerous crosses, the last of which teed up Freddie Ladapo for the third.

Conor Chaplin

That’s 26 for the season now for an attacker who is loving life in an Ipswich Town shirt. His movement was good, he picked the right passes and, when his big chance came, he made no mistake.

Nathan Broadhead

Broadhead was involved in the big moments once again here, with his initial shot saved in the lead-up to the opening goal before he produced a stunning pass to assist Chaplin. There is no doubt he has added a layer of quality to this Ipswich team since his arrival and he’s showed that again today.

George Hirst

Worked extremely hard throughout his time on the field and showed good quality too, all while battling three Posh centre-halves. Produced an excellent knockdown to help create Burns’ opening goal during a performance where he helped his side throughout.

Janoi Donacien (for Clarke, 69)

The first man off the bench got up to the speed of the game well and helped keep yet another clean sheet.

Dominic Ball (for Luongo, 75)

Broke up play on a couple of occasions and kept things solid in midfield. 7

Freddie Ladapo (for Hirst, 75)

Back on the bench for the start of this game but, once again, made an excellent impact off it. His touch and finish for Town’s third goal was superb. That’s 20 for the season for him now.
