Ipswich Town defender George Edmundson has been honoured by the EFL for his work in the community.
The centre-half has won the EFL Player in the Community award for League One, having worked with the Ipswich Town disability team throughout the season and also bought the squad kit to wear in training and games.
He took on a formal ambassadorial role with the Ipswich Town Foundation's disibility provision in January and has been a regular attendee at training sessions on weekday evenings ever since.
"I’m proud to have been recognised in this way," Edmundson said after winning the award.
"While it is an individual award, it is also a reflection of the commitment that all of the players have shown towards giving back to the community.
"The Foundation makes a huge difference to so many people in the local area and I have absolutely loved getting more involved in supporting their work this season."
Rotherham's Hakeem Odoffin has received the Championship award, while Omar Beckles of Leyton Orient picked up the League Two gong.
The achievements of all three players will be marked during an event hosted in Parliament on Monday, April 17.
An overall winner of the EFL Player in the Community will then be announced at the 2023 EFL Awards on Sunday, April 23.
Town manager Kieran McKenna has been nominated for the League One manager of the year award, while midfielder Cameron Humphreys is up for the division's young player of the year prize.
