Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn says Suffolk heavyweight star Fabio Wardley is heading for some blockbuster British title defences next.
Wardley added the WBA Continental title to his British crown on Saturday, stopping experienced American Michael Coffie with a flurry of punches in the fourth round at the O2 Arena, as the chief support to superstar Anthony Joshua.
There has been a lot of noise made both before and since by those who think they can hand Wardley (16-0, 15KO) his first defeat, and Hearn says those fights are likely to be next.
Olympic bronze medalist Frazer Clarke (6-0, 5KO), English champ Solomon Dacres (6-0, 2KO) and unbeaten prospect David Adeleye (11-0, 10KO) have all called Wardley out, with varying degrees of respect.
Hearn said: "That's three brilliant domestic fights for Fabio Wardley.
"Sol Dacres is with us, he's up for that challenge and that's a good place to start.
"Frazer's a very good fighter, not boxing at a high level yet, but lots of ability.
"And I've never seen David Adeleye beat anyone yet, but he's a good talent and there's a lot of chat going on between those two, and we love that.
"We'd love to make that fight. But in all honesty, three very talented opponents and a very talented champion.
"But right now he's the boy - he's got the belt, they're all calling him out, but he's just boxed in front of a full house at the O2 and on he goes.
"They've got to come and see him, he's the man, and he'll try to hold on to that belt."
Wardley said after the Coffie victory that he wants to win the Londsdale belt held by the British champion outright, meaning he'll need to defend it three times.
And Hearn said of the Ipswich puncher: "He's a very, very talented heavyweight who's getting better and better.
"There's some massive domestic fights ahead - we still want to win that British title outright, that's the aim.
"This (Coffie fight) was a great learning experience for him as he steps up to some big domestic fights later this year."
