Ipswich Town duo George Edmundson and Tyreece John-Jules have both suffered season-ending injuries.
Centre-back Edmundson hasn't featured since the 2-1 loss at Burnley in an FA Cup fourth round replay on February 7, while forward John-Jules hasn't played since undergoing hamstring surgery last November.
Speaking at this afternoon's press conference before tomorrow's home clash with Shrewsbury, Blues boss Kieran McKenna revealed: "George had a little roll of his ankle after the Burnley game, he missed a week, came back, was training well, but then he rolled it again.
"It's on the ankle he had a previous injury on. There's a weakness there and very unfortunately, for him and us, he's going to require surgery which will of course finish his season."
On forward John-Jules, who recently returned to Ipswich after undergoing injury rehab at parent club Arsenal, McKenna said: "Tyreece has had an injury in his rehabilitation to his quadriceps that he had an injury on last year. He's waiting on specialist opinion, but his season will be also finished.
"Hopefully he can get that rectified and remedied to come back strong because he's such a fantastic talent and person. We're all very disappointed for him and wish him to come back strong."
Asked if John-Jules, who was on a season-long loan from Arsenal, might return to Ipswich further down the line, McKenna said: "We certainly wouldn't rule it out.
"Of course those conversations are for the summer, but he's a player we really like and have really enjoyed working with.
"We think he would have played a massive part in this campaign, because he was getting better and better, but it hasn't worked out.
"Hopefully between now and pre-season he can find ways he can stay fit throughout the course of a season. He's certainly the type of profile of player we want at the football club, so we'll see what the summer brings."
The Blues boss, who also has Lee Evans currently sidelined, added: "We have a couple of other little niggles and illnesses in the camp, but hopefully they'll be alright for Saturday."
Providing an update on Dominic Ball, who was an unused sub at Bolton last weekend following his recovery from a long-term knee injury, McKenna said: "He's looking really good, is training well and is ready to go.
"Last week was a bit soon, but we felt that with it being the type of game it was and Massimo starting his third game in a week that we might needs Dom's physicality and experience to get us through that one.
"He's getting stronger and stronger and is ready to contribute when needed."
On midfielder Panutche Camara, who recently made his comeback from groin surgery with some minutes for the Under-21s, McKenna said: "Panutche is getting on okay. He's building himself up. He's training and playing pain free and we can see a difference in him for that.
"We have to look at whether we build him up with more minutes for the 21s or whether we can arrange one or two games within the squad alongside others who haven't played many minutes lately to make sure everyone is fit and ready when called upon.
"As these injuries show, we need the squad. April's a busy month and we're going to need everyone to contribute."
