Ipswich Town’s game away at Barnsley has been postponed due to international call-ups.
The game was due to be played on March 25, which would have seen the two sides currently sitting third and fourth in the League One table go head-to-head, with Ipswich selling out an away end containing more than 3,000 supporters.
But, with Nathan Broadhead and Wes Burns already called up by Wales, the game was in doubt given Ipswich could opt to postpone the clash if they had three players away on international duty.
Town have now received a third call, though it’s not clear for which player, and both clubs have confirmed the game has been postponed and will be replayed at a later date. A new date is yet to be confirmed but, as has been previously reported, Tuesday, April 25 is a possibility.
Sam Morsy has already been named in the provisional Egypt squad for their games with Malawi, while Greg Leigh is a likely member of the Jamaica party for their match with Mexico.
It’s not clear when either squad will be officially named.
The postponement means, after this weekend’s game at home to Shrewsbury, Ipswich will not be in action again until the visit to Derby County on April 1.
