Forest Green Rovers manager Duncan Ferguson admitted his side were comfortably second best in this afternoon's 4-0 defeat at Ipswich Town.

Conor Chaplin (2), Nathan Braodhead and Freddie Ladapo scored the goals as Kieran McKenna's men cruised to victory against League One's basement boys.

"We got punished in the first three or four minutes and didn't quite recover," admitted Ferguson.

"Then we concede from a set-play just before the break and that kills you a bit.

"The best team won didn't they?

"We conceded four goals, they hit the post and had another free header late on so it could have been a right score."

He continued: "We've got a young team. We're probably one of the youngest teams in the league. And Ipswich are a good team aren't they? They've got good players and created a lot of chances.

"Look, Ipswich were dominant. We struggled to get in that final third. We couldn't really get the strikers in the game and struggled with the possession.

"Ipswich are obviously at the top of the league for a reason. I don't think they've lost a game here for a long, long time.

"At least we had a go. That's all I can say.

"You've got to learn and think about what you can do better. Of course they are better than us and they were better than us today.

"It's one of them. We've just got to quickly move on."
