Ipswich Town drew 0-0 with Bristol Rovers this evening. Andy Warren hands out his player ratings.
Christian Walton
Dealt with everything which came his way this evening well enough, aside from an extremely nervous moment which left Ipswich hearts in mouths, as he let a cross slip before Luke Woolfenden was able to just about clear off the line. 5
Janoi Donacien
Back in the side at right-back and had an up-and-down night defensively without being able to give his team the forward thrust they would have wanted down his flank. 5
Luke Woolfenden
On the back of a couple of tough games the Town centre-back, along with partner Cameron Burgess, was tested by Aaron Collins here and had some wins and losses there, before eventually coming away with a clean sheet. His big moment came when he just about managed to clear off the line following Walton’s spill. 6
Cameron Burgess
Won some big headers for his side and rescued some dangerous situations with good recovery play, while also finding the going tough at times. He, along with Woolfenden, did enough to help earn the clean sheet in the end. 6
Leif Davis
Had lots of opportunities to cross the ball, particularly in the first half, but they either missed their mark or Ipswich couldn’t take advantage of them. Was given a thorough examination down his left flank, having to deal with the trio of James Gibbons, Anthony Evans and Harry Anderson. He just about passed the test. 5
Sam Morsy
The Town skipper had plenty of time on the ball in the midfield but a lot of it was in deep positions, without the drive through the middle of the pitch. Will be frustrated by another disappointing night, which ended with him having a frank exchange with a section of the away end. 5
Cameron Humphreys
The teenager had Ipswich’s best opportunities during the first hour of this game, having a shot saved from a clever corner routine and then nodding a header wide. Looked exhausted by the end of the game, with errors creeping in at a time when Ipswich are struggling for bodies in the centre of midfield. A lot is being asked of him. 4
Wes Burns
Kept his place in the side and had a few good moments down the right where he got in positions to cross, but the final ball couldn’t create the openings Town needed. Rovers defended the box well before the Welshman was replaced. 4
Sone Aluko
Started as the central attacker and had some nice touches of the ball but wasn’t able to impact the game as Rovers sat deep, before being replaced. 4
Marcus Harness
Back into the side and, like his fellow attackers, found the going tough as the Blues had good spells of possession but weren’t able to create too much with it. Had a couple of efforts on goal but couldn’t force the issue. 4
Freddie Ladapo
The striker was isolated in attack for long spells of his time on the pitch but did manage to work well with his back to goal on a few occasions and was the source of a few threatening moments. 6
Nathan Broadhead (for Aluko, 58)
Took time to get going but had two efforts at goal at the near post before having another shot blocked. Looked by far the most likely Ipswich player to break the deadlock, roaming the pitch looking for opportunities. 7
Kyle Edwards (for Burns, 58)
Brought on on the right side and had a couple of decent stabs at the Rovers defence but the hosts did a good job of closing him down. 6
Conor Chaplin (for Harness, 75)
On as part of a triple change which didn’t had the desired effect. 5
George Hirst (for Ladapo, 75)
Had a snapshot at the near post after replacing Ladapo. 5
Harry Clarke (for Davis, 75)
The defender finished the game on the left flank where he did his best to drive his side forward, having a shot blocked away. 5
