Ipswich Town youngster Edwin Agbaje has joined non-league side Yeovil Town on loan.

The 18-year-old right-back played a key role in the Blues' run to the FA Youth Cup semi-final in 2020/21, has captained the Under-23s and was handed first team opportunities in cup games against Cambridge United (Papa John's Trophy) and Bracknell (FA Cup) earlier this season.

He joins a Yeovil side that are currently five points above the National League drop zone under the management of Mark Cooper.

"When I heard about the move, straight away I was open to it," said Agbaje, who has represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level.

"Yeovil is a big club in this league, with a good history of playing in the top leagues.

"I wanted to come over straight away and get that experience of men's football, at the right club, at the right time for me."

Boss Cooper added: "Edwin is a young lad who arrives with a lot of potential.

"He's impressed so far in training, he's got a clear determination to do well in the game and that will bode well in his time here."

Agbaje, who will wear the No.39 shirt, could make his Glovers debut at Dagenham & Redbridge tomorrow.
